Shaun Morris Selected to Participate in 2020 TopConnect Virtual Seminar

TopConnect Identifies Top Assistant Coaches in College Basketball
HAMDEN, Conn. – Quinnipiac men's basketball Assistant Coach Shaun Morris has been selected to participate in the prestigious 2020 Top Connect Virtual Seminar, which will take place on June 11 and June 12, 2020.
TopConnect (formerly Villa 7) originated in 2003 by then VCU Athletic Director Dr. Richard Sander. The organization identifies the top basketball assistant coaches in the country and connects them with mid-major Athletic Directors, providing tremendous networking opportunities for both parties.
Morris recently completed his third season with the Bobcats in 2019-20. The offensive-minded assistant has helped guide Quinnipiac to 43 wins during that span. Quinnipiac is just one of 10 teams in the nation to record 300+ made three-point field goals in three consecutive seasons.
Quinnipiac advanced to the MAAC Semifinals in Morris' first year on Dunleavy's staff in 2017-18, earning a big win over Siena in the opening round of the tournament before knocking off the No. 2 seed and co-regular season champion Canisius in the quarterfinal round.
With the help of Morris during year two in 2018-19, Quinnipiac finished with a 16-15 (11-7 MAAC) overall record – the program's first winning season since 2013-14. The Bobcats earned a postseason appearance for just the fifth time in program history, playing in the opening round of the CollegeInsider.com Postseason Tournament (CIT) at NJIT on March 18, 2019.
During his third season in Hamden in 2019-20, Quinnipiac finished the season with a 15-15 (10-10 MAAC) mark. The Bobcats won three-straight games to end the regular season, earning the No. 5 seed in the MAAC Tournament and a first round bye for the second-straight season. The Bobcats finished No. 5 nationally once again in made three-pointers, nailing 10.3 triples per contest.
He joined Baker Dunleavy's staff in 2017-18 after serving on the staff for six years at Boston University under Head Coach Joe Jones. Morris joined as an assistant in 2011 and was promoted to the associate head coach position in 2014.

Additionally, three panels of AD's will discuss what they look for in hiring a coach, expectations of the head coach and building a successful basketball program. A panel of Division 1 University Presidents organized by ETSU's President Dr. Brian Noland will discuss basketball's role from the CEO perspective.
Other areas covered will be the search process moderated by Dan Walters (Buffkin/Baker) and Jeff Schemmel (College Sports Solutions), the media perspective including ESPN's Seth Greenberg and Debbie Antonelli, as well as Stadium Basketball Insider's, Jeff Goodman. Also presenting is ETSU's Chair of the Department of Media and Communications, Dr. Stephen Marshall, who will share his expertise in using social media to build a personal brand.
