Abdulai Bundu '19 Signs Professional Contract With Olimpi Tbilisi in Georgia

Bundu Becomes 6th Former QU Men's Basketball Student-Athlete Currently Playing Professionally
TBILISI, Georgia – Former Quinnipiac men's basketball forward Abdulai Bundu ('19) has signed a professional contract with Olimpi Tbilisi – a professional basketball team based out of Georgia's capital Tbilisi.
Olimpi Tbilisi plays in the Georgian Basketball Super League (also known as the Georgian Top League), the highest professional basketball league in the country of Georgia. The league of 10 teams has existed since 1991.
Bundu finished his Quinnipiac career with 720 points and 686 rebounds, becoming just the fourth player in Quinnipiac's Division I program history to record 600 points and 600 rebounds – joining Ousmane Drame (2011-15), Ike Azotam (2010-14) and Justin Rutty (2007-11). The forward played in 124 career games, which ranks tied for third all-time in QU history. Bundu averaged 5.5 points and 5.6 rebounds per game in 2018-19, shooting 61.7 percent from the floor.
The 2019 Quinnipiac graduate was selected to participate in the sixth annual Gotham Hoops Invitational on Saturday, April 27, 2019 at St. Francis College. The showcase featured 36 of the top seniors in all of Division I basketball.
Bundu becomes the sixth former Quinnipiac men's basketball student-athlete that is currently playing professional basketball, joining Cameron Young ('19, Italy), Donovan Smith ('16, Romania), Ousmane Drame ('15, France), Zaid Hearst ('15, France), James Feldeine ('10, Israel).
