Simone Morin Comes to Quinnipiac as Assistant Coach After Two Years at George Washington
HAMDEN, Conn. – The Quinnipiac Department of Athletics has announced that Simone Morin has returned to Quinnipiac as the Assistant Strength & Conditioning Coach after previously serving as an intern in Strength & Conditioning in the Summer of 2016.
"I am excited join Coach B here at Quinnipiac University to further my coaching career and to help athletes achieve their highest potential," Morin said. " Strength and conditioning is a priority here for athletic development and I am looking forward to build off of what is already in place to create the best possible environment for student-athlete success."
Morin joins Quinnipiac University after spending two seasons at George Washington University as a strength and conditioning assistant.
"Simone is a strong coach who has a bright future ahead of her and I am very fortunate to be able to bring her on staff," Associate Athletic Director and Director of Athletic Performance Brijesh Patel said. "I've been able to see her career grow from afar and I am glad that she can help our department grow.
"I am excited to see the impact she has on our student athletes' development."
While at George Washington, Morin worked primarily with the women's basketball team where she managed programming, coaching, player load, nutrition plans and game-day player on-court preparation for the team.
Morin also worked with the women's volleyball and women's rowing teams during her time at George Washington and spent three months from October-December 2019 as the Interim Men's Basketball strength and conditioning coach.
Prior to her time at George Washington, Morin had two stops at the University of Kansas where she first served as a Sports Performance Intern in the Summer of 2017 before returning from May-October 2018 as a Sports Performance Assistant Coach.
Morin also spent time as a Strength & Conditioning Graduate Assistant at Springfield College in 2017-18, Strength & Conditioning Intern at UConn in 2018 as well as a Strength & Conditioning Intern and Softball Assistant Coach at Springfield College in 2016-17.
While interning at Quinnipiac in the Summer of 2016, Morin assisted in the coaching of men's and women's basketball and ice hockey.
Morin has Level I Certifications in Functional Movement Screen (FMS), Reflexive Performance Reset (RPR) and Precision Nutrition. Morin is also a certified USA Weightlifting Level I Sports Performance Coach and NSCA Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist.
Morin was a softball student-athlete at Springfield College from 2013-2016 where she saw time in 59 career games. She graduated in three years with a Bachelor of Science in Applied Exercise Science in August 2016 and also completed her Master of Science in Exercise Science and Sport Studies at Springfield in May 2018.
