Softball Announces 2020 Schedule

Full 2020 Schedule
HAMDEN, Conn. - Head coach Hillary Smith and Quinnipiac softball program are excited to announce the team's 2020 schedule. The Bobcats are set to travel to Los Angeles, Calif., to compete in the Loyola Marymount Tournament and Maderia Beach, Fla., to open the season.
Non-conference Matchups
The Bobcats will play a total of 18 different non-conference teams throughout the course of the 2020 season. To begin the year, Quinnipiac will travel to Los Angeles to compete in the Loyola Marymount Tournament, which includes games against the LMU Lions, Delaware and Sacramento State. The Bobcats will play five games on the west coast (Feb. 21-23) before returning to Hamden.
Starting March 7, Quinnipiac will compete in the Maderia Beach tournament and will play 11 games in the Sunshine State. To begin the trip, the Bobcats will take on Florida Gulf Coast and Merrimack, followed by Holy Cross and Central Michigan. Toledo, Butler, Creighton and Brown make up the other four games for the Bobcats throughout the week.
Home Again, Home Again
Quinnipiac will return to Connecticut to face Hartford in a doubleheader on March 19. The Bobcats' home opener falls on March 20 against URI for a single game at 3:30 in Hamden. Quinnipiac will also face UConn on March 25 for a doubleheader in Storrs.
MAAC Play Begins
Conference games are set to commence on March 28, as the Bobcats open MAAC play at Rider. Monmouth, the reigning MAAC Champions, will come to Hamden on March 29. The Bobcats will host the Yale Bulldogs to begin the month of April, followed by two more MAAC series against Iona and Marist on April 4 and 5, respectively.
April Action
Quinnipiac will continue to face non-conference opponents through April, starting with Sacred Heart on April 8 with a single game. Fairfield and Merrimack will come to Quinnipiac on April 10-11 for two doubleheaders. CCSU and Quinnipiac will square off for a doubleheader on April 15 at home. The Bobcats will then take on Siena, Delaware, Saint Peter's and Manhattan, all on the road.
Season Finale
Quinnipiac will play the final non-conference games of the season against Holy Cross on April 30. To complete the MAAC regular season, the Bobcats will host Canisius and Niagara for two doubleheaders on May 2-3.
The MAAC Championship will be hosted by the regular season champion May 6-10. The top six teams make it to the tournament and will play in double-elimination fashion.
