Bobcats Score Season-Best Four Goals in Non-Conference Victory
NEW BRITAIN, Conn. – Quinnipiac men's soccer scored three times in the first half of action on Friday night at CCSU Soccer Field, cruising past the Blue Devils by the final score of 4-0 in non-conference action.
Oriac Vila Rotxes, Tomas Svecula, Simon Hillinger and Bruno Aguillon all scored for the Bobcats – who move to 2-2-1 with the road victory. Quinnipiac is now 12-3 in 15 career meetings with CCSU dating back to the Bobcats' days in the NEC.

SCORING SUMMARY
- (13' – Quinnipiac 1, CCSU 0): Oriac Vila Rotxes gave the Bobcats a one-goal lead, locating a long pass from the left side of the box and blasting it into the lower third.
- (28' – Quinnipiac 2, CCSU 0): Freshman Tomas Svecula made it 2-0 for the Bobcats in the 28th minute of action. Romain Daniellou maintained possession at the top of the box, then the ball deflected off a CCSU body and redirected toward Svecula, who one-timed the ball into the back of the net with his right foot.
- (35' – Quinnipiac 3, CCSU 0): Simon Hillinger extended the lead to three, finding the back of the net on a ball from sophomore Jordon Bennett.
- (60' – Quinnipiac 3, CCSU 1): Jamie Simpson cut the deficit back to just two goals, recording the Blue Devil's second goal of the season.
- (69' – Quinnipiac 4, CCSU 1): Freshman Bruno Aguillon then scored his first career goal, as the junior beat the diving Blue Devil's goalkeeper with his right foot for Quinnipiac's first goal of the second half.
- Vila now has two goals so far in 2019, and four scores for his career so far with the Bobcats. He also scored in Quinnipiac's home win vs. Sacred Heart on Sept. 6.
- Svecula's score is the first of his collegiate career with the Bobcats. He also has two assists, giving him four total points in his first year at QU.
- Hillinger's goal is his third career score. The junior's previous two scores came in a 2OT win over Marist during his freshman season in 2017.
- Aguillon's goal is his first at Quinnipiac. The junior had played in 10 career games over his first two-plus seasons before finding his first score.
- Total shots were 13-9, and the Bobcats attempted six corner chances.
- Jared Mazzola made four more stops, and now owns a 1.16 goals-against average so far this season.
- Quinnipiac returns home on Tuesday, Sept. 24, hosting America East opponent New Hampshire in the final non-conference contest of the 2019 season.
