LOWELL, Mass. – Quinnipiac men's soccer scored twice in a three-minute span at the end of the first half, as the Bobcats played to a 2-2 draw vs. UMass Lowell on Monday afternoon at Cushing Field.

With the tie, the Bobcats move to 0-1-1 (0-0-0 MAAC) so far in 2019. Eamon Whelan and Romain Daniellou each scored a goal for Quinnipiac, and freshman Tomas Svecula earned a pair of assists.

SCORING SUMMARY

(13' – UMass Lowell 1, Quinnipiac 0): Chase Reichenburg got UMass Lowell on the board early, finding the back of the net on a pass from Renato Kauzlaric just 12:13 into action.
(42' – Quinnipiac 1, UMass Lowell 1): Eamon Whelan evened things just before the half, scoring his 27^th career goal with assists to both Romain Daniellou and Tomas Svecula. Daniellou played the ball ahead to Whelan, who was able to track it down and finish with his left foot from inside the box for his first goal of the season.
(44' – Quinnipiac 2, UMass Lowell 1): Romain Daniellou scored again less than three minutes later, tapping a pass from Tomas Svecula past the River Hawks keeper to give the Bobcats a 2-1 lead. The goal from Daniellou's right foot came from the left side of the box, almost the exact same spot as Whelan's just a few minutes prior.
(80' – Quinnipiac 2, UMass Lowell 2): Stanley Alves evened things with just over 10 minutes remaining in regulation, as Denis Petro and Renato Kauzlaric both earned a helper on the score.

NOTES

With the tie, Quinnipiac becomes one of just six teams to play to a tie/win vs. UMass Lowell at Cushing Field since the start of the 2016 season. The River Hawks have gone 21-2-4 at home over the past three-plus years.
Junior Jared Mazzola made three stops for the Bobcats, including multiple diving saves to keep the game in reach for the Bobcats.
Eamon Whelan's now has 27 career goals over his four seasons at Quinnipiac, which ranks No. 8 in program history. Whelan needs five more goals to move into sole possession of the No. 3 spot in Quinnipiac's all-time ranks.
With a goal and an assist in the draw, Romain Daniellou now has two goals and three assists for seven career points with the Bobcats.
Freshman Tomas Svecula's two assists were the first two points of his collegiate career.
Total shots were 17-11 in favor of UMass Lowell, while the Bobcats held a 7-4 advantage in corners.
Quinnipiac and UMass Lowell have now played to three ties in four all-time meetings.
