Four Bobcats Post Rounds of 72 or Better for First Time in Program History

HANOVER, N.H. - For the first time in program history, four Quinnipiac golfers posted scores of 72 or better in the same round as Leeyen Peralta, Alexandra Sazhin, Queenie Lai, and Elena Lopez all shot par or better in the final round of the Sunday's Dartmouth Invitational.

The Bobcats tied for sixth place overall, led by Lai's 14th place finish. Sazhin and Peralta both tied for 20th after shooting +6 for the weekend.

Lopez tied for seventh after the best two-round score of her career, but her score did not attribute to the team score as she competed as an individual golfer for the weekend.

ROUND ONE SCORES

Lopez, competing as an individual golfer, finished the weekend with a career-low 70 in Sunday's round. Lopez shot a 74 in the opening round yesterday. She becomes the fifth player in Quinnipiac history to shoot a 70 or better.
Peralta, one of three Quinnipiac freshmen, following her debut 79 with an impressive seven-stroke improvement in round two. The Brea, California native is the eighth Bobcat to post a 72 or better in a competitive round.
Freshman Kaylee Sakoda improved by four strokes in her second collegiate round, as the rookie tallied a 76 on Sunday after an 80 in the opener.
Sazhin and Lai each shot 78s to begin the 2019 season and both improved dramatically in round two. Sazhin stormed to her fifth round of 72 (or better) to shoot 150 for the weekend and Lai bested her teammate by a stroke as she posted a 71, the second-best score of her career.
Sophomore Darby Lillibridge closed the tournament with an 80 on Sunday after she opened the season shooting a 78 in the first round.
As a team, the Bobcats improved by 21 strokes from round one to round two, moving from ninth place to a tie for sixth.

The Bobcats will continue the Fall season on September 22 at Blue Hill Country Club in Canton, Mass. as they compete in the Boston College Intercollegiate tournament.
