
2019 National Collegiate Women's Hockey Championship Bracket Announced

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. — The National Collegiate Women's Ice Hockey Committee announced Sunday, March 10 the eight teams that will compete in the 19th National Collegiate Women's Ice Hockey Championship. Eight teams have been selected for the tournament, and the top four seeded teams will host the quarterfinals.
Quarterfinal competition will be conducted on the campuses of the participating institutions on Saturday, March 16, and the winners of each quarterfinal will move on to the 2019 NCAA Women's Frozen Four, hosted by Quinnipiac on March 22 and 24 at the People's United Center in Hamden, Conn.
The top four teams teams include No. 1 Wisconsin (WCHA), No. 2 Minnesota (WCHA), No. 3 Northeastern (HEA) and No. 4 Clarkson (ECAC). The remaining four teams include Syracuse (CHA), Boston College (HEA), Cornell (ECAC) and Princeton (ECAC). Each conference champion is awarded an automatic bid and the remaining four teams were chosen at-large.
The Wisconsin Badgers will host Syracuse, who won the CHA. The Minnesota Gophers will host the Princeton Tigers, who lost to Cornell in the semifinals of the ECAC Tournament on March 9. Hockey East Champions, Northeastern, will host Cornell, who fell to Clarkson in the ECAC Championship. Finally, the Golden Knights will welcome the Boston College Eagles, who earned an at-large bid after losing to Northeastern in the Hockey East Championship.

In 2018, Clarkson defeated Colgate 2-1 in overtime in Minneapolis to win its second consecutive and third overall National Collegiate Women's Ice Hockey Championship title.
