HAMDEN, Conn. – The Quinnipiac University Athletic Department is proud to announce the naming of its outdoor tennis facility as the Peter Liberti Tennis Complex. The university will celebrate this milestone with an official dedication ceremony on Saturday, April 18.
The ceremony is scheduled to take place between the Bobcats' women's and men's tennis matchups against Niagara, serving as a centerpiece for a day dedicated to the sport and the university community.

Peter Liberti, a lifelong tennis enthusiast, has been a fixture of the Quinnipiac community since arriving in Hamden in July 2018. Married to Judy D. Olian, who served as Quinnipiac's 9th president from 2018 to 2025, Liberti has been a steadfast supporter of the university's mission.
Beyond his presence at university-wide events, Liberti's impact on the tennis program has been hands-on; a longtime player himself, he shared his expertise and passion by coaching the club tennis team during his time in Hamden.
"Because of Peter Liberti and Judy Olian's philanthropy, these courts will serve as a daily reminder that excellence is built by those willing to invest in the future of others," said Paula Miller, Director of Tennis and Women's Tennis Head Coach. "A name on a court is more than recognition—it is a permanent symbol of belief, generosity, and lasting impact. Quinnipiac Tennis thanks Peter and Judy for their generosity."
The dedication honors Liberti's multifaceted contribution to the sport and the school, recognizing him not just as a supporter, but as a mentor and participant in the Bobcat athletic culture.
"Dedicating this facility as the Peter Liberti Tennis Complex honors a coach, player, and lifelong fan whose passion continues to shape the Quinnipiac tennis programs and whose long-term influence will continue to help student-athletes for generations," added Nick Wormley, Vice President for Development and Alumni Affairs.
"The naming of this facility is a testament to the profound impact Peter Liberti has had on our campus community," said Director of Athletics Greg Amodio. "Peter's dedication to our student-athletes and his genuine love for the game of tennis have made him an integral part of the Bobcat family. We are honored to have his name permanently associated with our athletic program, representing a legacy of support that elevates the experience for our players and fans alike."
The Quinnipiac community and Bobcat fans are invited to attend the matchups against Niagara and join the athletic department for the dedication ceremony in between matches. The program will also celebrate Senior Day and Alumni Day during Saturday's matches.
