Bobcats defeat Saints, 2-1, in regular season finale
HAMDEN, Conn. – The Quinnipiac women's soccer team defeated the Siena Saints on a rainy Wednesday afternoon. Senior Ally Grunstein and sophomore Selena Salas each scored a goal to lift the Bobcats over the Saints in a 2-1 victory.
The Bobcats have clinched the fifth spot in the MAAC Tournament, but will wait to see what opponent they will play in the quarterfinal round, which is scheduled for Sunday, Nov. 3.

SCORING SUMMARY
First Half
- (20' – Quinnipiac 0, Siena 1): Siena's Jayanna Monds hit a shot from the left side of the penalty box that redirected off the post. Carrie Krohn put away the rebound past freshman keeper Meaghan Phillips to give the Saints the 1-0 lead.
- (23' - Quinnipiac 1, Siena 1): The Bobcats answered back after senior Ally Grunstein scored on her own rebound right inside the six-yard box to tie the game, 1-1.
- (36' - Quinnipiac 2, Siena 1): Sophomore Selena Salas received a cross from freshman Dani Zerbo, took a touch and finished in the bottom left corner of the goal.
- Grunstein scored her first goal of the season and now has one goal and six assists for eight points on the year. The senior also added a season-high 10 individual shots to lead the team.
- Salas tallied her fourth goal of the year and leads the team with 12 points. She also scored the game-winning goal in the win vs the Saints.
- Freshman Dani Zerbo tallied an assist in the win and now has two on the year.
- The Bobcats out shot the Saints 22-17.
- Freshman Meaghan Phillips and senior Olivia Myszewski split time between the posts. Phillips recorded four saves and Myszewski recorded two.
- Depending on the results of the Marist-Canisius game on Wednesday, Quinnipiac will either play Rider or Marist on the road in the opening round in the MAAC playoffs in the quarterfinal game on Sunday, Nov. 3.
