Women's Soccer Wraps Up Regular Season Play vs Siena

Bobcats, Saints to kick off at 2:30 PM
HAMDEN, Conn. - The Quinnipiac women's soccer team is set to wrap up regular season play against the Siena Saints. Kickoff is set for 2:30 p.m., in Hamden on Wednesday afternoon. The Bobcats have had a week to prepare after tying Manhattan last Wednesday, 1-1 (2OT).
Quinnipiac has secured a spot in the 2019 MAAC playoffs, but the seeding will not be decided until after Wednesdays' games. The Bobcats will travel to Rider or Marist on Sunday, Nov. 3 for the quarterfinal game.

Quinnipiac hosted the Manhattan Jaspers a week ago and tied 1-1 after two overtime periods. Sophomore Selena Salas scored the lone goal for the Bobcats, and freshman Meaghan Phillips tallied four saves in the tie.
Scouting Siena:
The Saints will come to Hamden with a 4-10-4 overall record. Siena is coming off a 4-1 loss against Fairfield on Oct. 26. Amber Alfonzo leads the team with three goals and one assist for seven points. Taylor Dorado has played all 18 games in the net for the Saints, recording 97 saves with a 1.52 goals against average.

Quinnipiac holds an all-time record of 3-8-2 against Siena. The Bobcats and Saints met twice during the 2018 season, once during regular season play and once during the playoffs. The Bobcats went 0-1-1 last season after losing in the MAAC Quarterfinals to the Saints.
Underclassmen Leading:
Freshman Olivia Scott and Salas lead the team with10 points each on three goals and four assists. Freshman Markela Bejleri has tallied two goals and two assists for six points. Sophomore Emily Loney has recorded two game-winning goals this season with three goals total.
Phillips in the Net:
Freshman Meaghan Phillips has tallied five shutouts on the season. She is currently tied with Gwen Miller '93 in the 10th spot for the program's single-season shutout record. Kate Mockaitis '94 and Chloe Beizer '07 hold the program's record with seven shutouts in one season. Phillips has totaled a 0.85 goals against average and 0.815 save percentage, which ranks second and third in the conference, respectively.

Monmouth and Fairfield have secured the first and second place seeds, each earning a bye in the first round of the MAAC playoffs. The third seed will host the sixth seed, and the fourth seed will host the fifth seed. Quinnipiac will either play Rider or Marist, depending on Wednesday's results.
