Five Different Bobcats Net Goals Led by Martin's Three-Point Night
HAMDEN, Conn. – Five different players scored goals for the No. 6/6 Quinnipiac men's ice hockey team Friday night as the Bobcats defeated the Dartmouth Big Green, 5-1, in front of over 3,000 fans.
Craig Martin (Trail, British Columbia) led all scorers with three points while Chase Priskie (Pembroke Pines, Florida) and Alex Whelan (Ramsey, New Jersey) each tallied a goal and an assist in the victory.
Ethan de Jong (North Vancouver, British Columbia) and Peter DiLiberatore (Bedford, Nova Scotia) rounded out the Bobcats goal scorers in the thrilling victory, overcoming a 5-1 loss at Dartmouth earlier this season.
Andrew Shortridge (Anchorage, Alaska) made 24 saves between the pipes for the Bobcats in his eighth win of the season and recorded his first assist of the season.

- (19:39.9, 1st period) – Quinnipiac 0, Dartmouth 1: Daniel Warpecha put the Big Green up in the final stages of the first period as he managed to sneak the shot past Shortridge on a feed from Kevan Kilistoff.
- (12:23, 2nd period) – Quinnipiac 1, Dartmouth 1: Priskie put the Bobcats on the board just past the midway point of the second period as Priskie put home a Brandon Fortunato (North Hills, New York) rebound to even up the score.
- (17:19, 2nd period) – Quinnipiac 2, Dartmouth 1: DiLiberatore put the Bobcats on top and never looked back with 2:41 to go in the second period with a rifle from the point off a pass from Craig Martin (Trail, British Columbia). Shortridge picked up his first assist of the season.
- (19:42, 2nd period) – Quinnipiac 3, Dartmouth 1: The Bobcats added one final goal in their three-goal third period as de Jong was set up perfectly for a tap-in goal on the back door off a feed from Odeen Tufto (Chaska, Minnesota) from the right wing after Tufto made a great move to beat the defender along the wall.
- (1:24, 3rd period) – Quinnipiac 4, Dartmouth 1: Quinnipiac did not let up in the third period as Whelan netted his goal early in the period. Priskie's initial shot was blocked by a Dartmouth skater and he got the rebound right back before shifting it to Whelan on his right to score on a shot through a screen in front.
- (17:53, 3rd period) – Quinnipiac 5, Dartmouth 1: The Bobcats closed out the period on Martin's only goal of the night as he lifted home the rebound on a shot from Karlis Cukste (Riga, Latvia) that was batted down by Whelan and saved by Dartmouth goaltender Adrian Clark before Martin put it home.

NOTES
- Martin recorded his fourth career three-point night as he picked up points in back-to-back games
- He now has eight points on the season to go with 11 assists for 19 points, giving him his third straight 10-plus assist season and is on the verge of his second career 20-point year
- Priskie continued his impressive senior campaign with his 10th multi-point effort of the season with his goal and assist
- Priskie's goal was his 13th of the season and eighth on the power play to tie for the nation lead, in addition to recording his 27th point of the year to set a career-high, breaking his previous best of 26 from his freshman season
- Shortridge turned away 24 of the 25 shots he faced for his eighth win of the season, tied for the second most in ECAC Hockey
- He also recorded his first assist of the season and second of his career, giving the Bobcats 21 different players with a point on the season and is one of 27 goaltenders in the nation with a point this season
- Whelan recorded a goal and an assist to give him 14 points on the season, with his seven goals good for the fifth most on the team
- Whelan's two-point night was his second of the season after his hat trick against AIC on Oct. 27
- DiLiberatore tallied a goal for the second straight game and third time in the last four with his power-play strike Friday night
- He now leads all ECAC Hockey freshmen defensemen with three goals, two power-play goals, five power-play points and 10 points after his performance
- de Jong also scored for a second straight night to give him six goals on the season while his 16 points remain second among ECAC Hockey rookies.
- Cukste returned to his helping ways as he recorded an assist for his 12th of the season and 13th point, just two away from a career-high
- Tufto extended his point streak to five games on the season with an assist on de Jong's goal to keep him fourth in the nation with 28 points
- Fortunato also recorded an assist to give him 17 helpers on the season, the third time in his career that he has recorded 17 assists in a single season
- Rafferty returned to the score sheet with an assist to give him 12 points on the year as he appeared in his 99th career game
- Fällström also recorded an assist as he extended his point streak to three games, the second-longest active point streak on the team
- Friday night served as a special night for the Bobcats as the team recorded its 200th win with Ed "Foxy" Maturo on the bench as the equipment manager
- The Bobcats wrap up their four-game homestand Saturday night as Quinnipiac hosts Harvard with puck drop set for 7 p.m.
