QU Softball's Rachel Marchuk Named MAAC Player of the Week

HAMDEN, Conn. - Sophomore infielder Rachel Marchuk was named the MAAC Softball Player of the Week for games through Sunday, March 25, as announced today by the league office.

Marchuk batted .500 (6-for-12) in a 2-3 week for the Bobcats. Her hit total included a home run and two doubles, while she tallied three RBI in five games. Marchuk also boasted a .462 on-base percentage and an .917 slugging percentage for the week.

Marchuk led the way going 2-for-3 from the plate with a home run and two RBIs in Quinnipiac's 6-5 win over Wagner on Saturday. Marchuk's two-run homer was the first dinger of her career and gave Quinnipiac a 4-0 lead at the time.

Quinnipiac will be back in action on Saturday, March 31 when it travels to Lawrenceville, New Jersey to take on Rider in a doubleheader in its MAAC season opener. First pitch of game one is set for noon.
