POUGHKEEPSIE, New York - The Quinnipiac women's basketball team clinched its fourth-consecutive MAAC regular season championship and a first round bye for the MAAC Tournament in a 80-74 road win over Marist in double-overtime on Sunday, Feb. 18.

With the win, Quinnipiac has now won its fourth MAAC regular season championship since joining the conference prior to the 2013-14 season. Aryn McClure led the way with a season-high 25 points, Jen Fay added 21 points and 13 rebounds and Carly Fabbri scored eight points, dished out seven assists and grabbed a career-high 10 rebounds.

Quinnipiac opened the game with an 8-2 run in the first five minutes of game action.
Four different players scored on the run, with Thornton capping the run with a eurostep layup on the fast break.
After Marist responded with a 5-0 run to cut the QU lead to 8-7, the Bobcats came back with a 7-2 run.
All seven of Quinnipiac's points were scored by McClure.

After Marist took a 43-41 lead with 8:54 remaining in the fourth quarter, Quinnipiac responded with a swift 10-2 run in 1:41 of game action.
Thornton started the run with a three-pointer and capped it with a fast break layup to force a Marist timeout.
After Quinnipiac took a 55-50 lead, Marist went on an 8-0 run to take a 58-55 lead with 21 seconds remaining.
Paula Strautmane (Riga, Latvia) drew a foul and made her first free throw, but missed the second.
McClure grabbed the offensive rebound and with 1.9 seconds left Fay drew a foul.
Fay knocked down both free throws to tie the game at 58-58 and force overtime.
In overtime, McClure came out aggressive and scored eight of the Bobcats' nine points in overtime.
After Marist took a 69-67 lead with 4:40 remaining in double-overtime, Quinnipiac responded with a 7-0 run.
The run was capped with a McClure mid-range jumper to put the Bobcats up 74-69 with 2:33 remaining.
After Marist cut the lead to 74-72 with 2:13 remaining, the Bobcats closed the contest with an 8-2 run.
Brittany Martin (Sicklerville, New Jersey) scored six of Quinnipiac's final eight points to help seal the win.
