Priskie Scores 12th Goal of Season, Petruzzelli Ties Career-HIgh with 37 Saves
AMHERST, Mass. – Senior captain Chase Priskie (Pembroke Pines, Florida) scored his ECAC Hockey-leading 12th goal of the season Saturday night but the No. 8 Quinnipiac men's ice hockey team fell to the No. 1 UMass Minutemen, 3-1, at the Mullins Center in front of a sell-out crowd of 8,412 fans.
In addition to scoring his 12th goal of the season, Priskie's goal was his national-best seventh power-play goal of the season.
Quinnipiac's loss snapped its seven-game winning streak that dated back to Nov. 16 at Cornell.
Despite picking up the loss between the pipes, Bobcats' goaltender Keith Petruzzelli (Wilbraham, Massachusetts) tied his career-high with 37 saves.

SCORING SUMMARY
- (8:24, 2nd period) – Quinnipiac 1, UMass 0: Priskie continued his impressive play on the power play as he buried his seventh power-play goal of the season. Tufto settled the puck down on the right wing and worked the puck up to the point for Rafferty who quickly found Priskie on the left wing. Priskie faked the shot to create more room for himself before wristing the puck past UMass goaltender Matt Murray.
- (5:27, 3rd period) – Quinnipiac 1, UMass 1: The Minutemen tied the game early in the third period as Mitchell Chaffee hit Ivan Chukarov with a pass before Chukarov ripped a shot over Petruzzelli's right shoulder.
- (8:37, 3rd period) – Quinnipiac 1, UMass 2: UMass forced a Quinnipiac turnover behind its own goal before Philip Lagunov backhanded a pass to Jacob Pritchard just outside of the crease. Pritchard went backhand-to-forehand to beat Petruzzelli for the goal
- (19:33.6, 3rd period) – Quinnipiac 1, UMass 3: Bobby Trivigno finished off the scoring with an unassisted empty-net goal with just under 27 seconds remaining in the third.
- Quinnipiac's 14-3-0 record through the first 17 games is its best record in that span since starting the season 15-0-2 in 2015-16
- The Bobcats' 14 wins are tied for the most in the nation with Minnesota State
- Petruzzelli tied his career-high with 37 saves Saturday night as he stood on his head throughout the game
- He recorded no fewer than 12 saves in each period, as he made 13 saves in the first and 12 each in the second and third periods
- Priskie's goal was his 12th of the season, already surpassing his junior year total of 11 for a new career high
- The goal was also Priskie's seventh power-play goal of the season, as he now has power-play goals in three of his last four games
- Rafferty picked up his eighth assist of the season and 11th point of the season
- He now has assists in two of his last three games
- Tufto recorded his team-leading 15th assist of the season and 25th point with the secondary helper on Priskie's power-play goal
- Saturday night's game was played in front of a sell-out crowd of 8,412, a new record for UMass Hockey at the Mullins Center
- The Bobcats are off for the next three weeks before returning to the ice in a non-conference game against the Colgate Raiders on Dec. 29. Puck drop is set for 5 p.m. at NYCB Live, Home of the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum.
