Petruzzelli Earns Third Shutout of Season, Metsa Scores First Career Goal
ORONO, Maine –Zach Metsa (Delafield, Wisconsin) scored his first career goal Saturday night and Keith Petruzzelli (Wilbraham, Massachusetts) tallied his third shutout of the season as the No. 10/10 Quinnipiac men's ice hockey team blanked the Maine Black Bears, 2-0, at Alfond Arena.
Petruzzelli's shutout gives the Bobcats four shutouts on the season as he made 23 saves to extend Quinnipiac's winning streak to four consecutive games. The four-game winning streak is Quinnipiac's second-longest of the season after a six-game winning streak to open up the season.
Metsa's first career goal made him the sixth different Bobcat to record their first career goal this season. Fellow freshman Ethan de Jong (North Vancouver, British Columbia) also scored for the Bobcats Saturday night.

SCORING SUMMARY
- (9:39, 2nd period) – Quinnipiac 1, Maine 0: Scott Davidson (Trail, British Columbia) got the scoring play started as he rushed through the zone and fired a backhanded shot which was saved by Maine goaltender Jeremy Swayman. Michael Lombardi (Barrington, Rhode Island) chased down the rebound and backhanded the puck into the slot where Metsa tapped home the puck past a diving Swayman for the first of his career.
- (2:09, 3rd period) – Quinnipiac 2, Maine 0: de Jong and Tufto teamed up for a goal for the second time in as many nights. After de Jong won a battle for the puck, it came loose to Odeen Tufto (Chaska, Minnesota) low in the circle. His intital shot was saved by Swayman but de Jong put himself in position to one-time home the rebound for the goal.
- Quinnipiac extended its winning streak to four games after its second straight weekend sweep, and third overall weekend sweep this season
- Metsa scored his first career goal in the victory
- Metsa is the sixth different Quinnipiac freshman to record their first career goal and the 14th different player to score a goal this season

- Quinnipiac returns home Friday night to host the No. 18 Princeton Tigers in Frank Perrotti Jr. Arena at People's United Center at 7 p.m. for the first game of a home-and-home weekend series with the Tigers. The Bobcats and Tigers will meet
