HAMDEN, Conn. – The Quinnipiac Bobcats fell in a tight match against the Canisius Golden Griffs, 3-0, on Nov. 10. Kat Miller and Morgan Sherwin led the Bobcats with 10 kills each. The team also celebrated senior Miller and her dedication to the program over the last four years.

FIRST SET (Canisius 25, Quinnipiac 21) –The first set went back and forth between both teams with six ties in the first 10 points. Maggie Baker got in on the action with a kill to tie the set, 12-12. The Golden Griffs took an 18-16 lead after an ace, and they would hold on to the lead for the rest of the set. A kill by Gabrielle Darnaby gave Canisius the 25-21 win.

SECOND SET (Canisius 25, Quinnipiac 23)– The second set proved to be another battle for both teams with Quinnipiac standing within one point of Canisius throughout the first half of scoring. Kat Miller tied the game 11-11 with a kill, and Baker followed with another kill to tie the game again at 12-12. After a setting error by Quinnipiac, the Bobcats took a timeout with Canisius leading 17-14. The Bobcats would overcome a four-point deficit and come back to tie the game, 23-23, after a kill by Morgan Sherwin. The Golden Griffs would close out the set though, and score the last two points.

THIRD SET (Canisius 25, Quinnipiac 18)– Gabby Horman would open the third set with a kill and Sherwin would tally an ace to give the Bobcats a 2-0 lead. Later, the Griffs would go on a 4-2 run to give them an 11-7 lead over the Bobcats. Kaleigh Oates would put the Bobcats within two points after a kill taking the score to 12-14. The Griffs would maintain the lead for the remaining points of the third set and win, 25-18.

NOTES

Kat Miller and Morgan Sherwin each recorded 10 kills to lead the Bobcats.
Maggie Baker had eight kills and recorded a .350 hitting percentage.
Maria Pansari tallied 35 assists.
Alejandra Rodriguez notched 14 digs.
With her 10 kills, Miller is now eight kills away from reaching 1,000 kills in her career.
