Women's Cross Country Finishes Fourth at MAAC Championship

LOUDONVILLE, N.Y. – The women's cross country team finished fourth overall at the MAAC Championship on Saturday, Oct. 27. Kaitlin Bakas led the Bobcats in the women's 6k with the fastest team finish of 22:28.4 and took 15th overall.
Morgan Voight had the second-best time for the Bobcats (22:34.5) and finished in 18th place. Ellie Songer finished in 34th place with a time of 23:19.4. Maria Ricalton finished with the same time as Songer.
Kate Gihorski finished in 40th place with a time of 23:30.9. Megan Curtin came in 45th place (23:34.2), and Danielle Marcone was right behind her in 46th place (23:34.7). Shaelyn Pacheco took 52nd place (23:44.8) and Brooke Hagen finished in 53rd place (23:49.3).
Amy Laverty placed in 58th with a time of 23:53.1. Madeleine Shellard finished in 64th place with a time of 24:05.4. Gabriella Prizio took 69th place (24:24.6) and Amanda Carlson took 72nd place with a time of 24:31.5.
Samantha Leal finished in 78th place (24:49.0), Sara Wilcox took 82nd (24:56.7) and Mia Pestle placed 89th (25:04.1). Kathaleen Bradley finished in 110th place with a time of 25:49.3, and Mary Watters placed 121st with a time of 26:35.5.
The Iona women's team won their third MAAC title in a row and finished with 21 team points. Marist finished second with 85 team points, and Monmouth took third with 114 points.
Quinnipiac placed fourth with 127 team points. Canisius, Monmouth, Manhattan, Rider, Fairfield, Niagara and Saint Peter's followed in the team results.
