HAMDEN, Connecticut – Quinnipiac field hockey lost to Villanova, 2-1, in a BIG EAST Conference match-up at the Quinnipiac Field Hockey Stadium in Hamden, Conn. The Bobcats' move to 2-1 in the BIG EAST with its first conference loss of the season while Villanova improves to 1-2 in conference play.

SCORING SUMMARY
- Villanova's Abby Siana gave the Wildcats a 1-0 lead with her second goal of the season off a corner set. Christen Pennington inserted the ball to Emily Cliggett who set-up Siana for the blast from the top of the circle.
- Late in the half, Quinnipiac junior Elisa Ruiz Martinez (Madrid, Spain) tied the game with her second goal of the season. Ruiz Martinez took a feed from Selina Reichert (Lower Hutt, New Zealand) off a corner and ripped a shot to the top left corner to knot the game at 1-1.
- Just before the half, Lydia Syndor gave the Wildcats a 2-1 lead off a feed from Emily Clarke.
NOTES
- Ruiz Martinez is now the sixth different Bobcat to score in Quinnipiac's last six games. It was the juniors second goal of the year and her first since Sept. 1 against Northeastern.
- Despite the score, Quinnipiac dominated the shots-on-goal differential, 12-4, including a 6-0 ledger in the second half.
- Quinnipiac also earned 10 corners to Villanova's seven for the game.
