Cianfarano had four points (two goals and two assists), Melissa Samoskevich added a goal and an assist, Randi Marcon had a goal, and Kenzie Prater (Hudson, Wisc.) recorded two assists. The Bobcats scored five straight goals to begin the game and won 5-4

NEW SEASON, NEW TEAM
- The Bobcats finished the 2016-17 season at 21-10-6 (13-6-3 ECAC). This gave the team the #5 seed in the ECAC tournament, where they were defeated by Princeton.
- Senior T.T. Cianafarano (Oswego, N.Y.) returns, hoping to build off of her 13-13-26 season last year.
- Junior Melissa Samoskevich (Sandy Hook, Conn.), Last season's point leader with 10 goals 19 assists for 29 points, returns as well.
- Senior Alicia Barry (Hanson, Mass.) will begin the season with 112 career games played, the most of anybody on the team.
- Junior Randi Marcon (Winnipeg, Manitoba) tallied 10 points on the season last year with seven goals and three assists.
- Barry and Samoskevich were named co-captains of the team for the 2017-18 season.
- Cianfarano and Marcon were named as the assistant captains.
- Coach Cassandra Turner brought seven new freshmen into the program, as well as a transfer in junior Anna Kilponen (Orivesi, Finland) who played at the University of North Dakota for two seasons prior to the university disbanding the program.
- Kilponen becomes the second Bobcat with Olympic experience, as she played for the Finnish National Team in the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi.
- The Black Bears finished last season at 10-21-1 including a 6-17-1 record in Hockey East.
- Tereza Vanisova and Brooke Stacey led the team with 28 points each last season.
- Vanisova led the team with 16 goals and added 12 assists. Stacey tallied 15 goals and 13 assists.
- Alyson Matteau led the team with 15 assists.
- Goaltender Carly Jackson went 7-16-1 last season and recorded a .911 save percentage.
ALL-TIME vs. MAINE
- Quinnipiac is 12-11-1 all-time vs. Maine, and the Bobcats have won 10 straight meetings against the Black Bears.
- Last season, Quinnipiac opened their non-conference schedule with back-to-back wins against the Black Bears, 5-4 and 3-0.
- The last time that the Black Bears defeated the Bobcats was on October 8, 2011. Maine defeated Quinnipiac 5-4.
- Quinnipiac was ranked fifth in the Preseason ECAC Coaches' Poll.
- The Bobcats won 13 league games last season and finished fifth in the final ECAC standings.
CONSISTENTLY EXCELLENT
- Over the past eight years, only three Division I women's ice hockey teams have won 19 or more games each season: Quinnipiac, Wisconsin and Minnesota.
ROAD WARRIORS
- Quinnipiac went 11-6-3 last season away from High Point Solutions Arena, including a six-game road winning stream from Nov. 28 to Dec. 3, 2016 - which is a new program record.
- Prior to this season, the Bobcats' longest road winning streak came in 2011-2012, when QU won five straight contests away from home from Nov. 12, 2011 to Dec. 9, 2011.
- Quinnipiac finished the 2016-17 season at No. 2 in the nation in team defense, giving up just 1.38 goals per contest.
- Quinnipiac was incredibly successful on the power play during ECAC play last season, capitalizing on 24.3% (18-of-74) power-play opportunities.
JUST SCORE FIRST
- The Bobcats scored first in 22-of-37 games during the 2016-17 season. The team went 18-1-3 whenever they scored first.
SHOOT TO THRILL
- Quinnipiac recorded more shots than their opponents in 28-of-37 games last season, going 21-3-4 whenever they did.
CENTURY MARK
- T.T. Cianfarano reached 100 career points in the Bobcats' final game before the winter break, a 6-1 win over RPI on Dec. 3, 2016.
- Cianfarano reached the plateau in 94 games (56 goals, 44 assists). She would add two more goals and six more assists on the season to finish with 108 career points in 109 career games
- Sophomore Abbie Ives (Bedford Hills, N.Y.) is looking to step into the role of Sydney Rossman.
- Ives played in six games for the Bobcats last season, starting three of those appearances, and earned a 3-0-1 record.
- In her time in net during the 2016-17 season, Ives allowed only one goal. Her goals against average was 0.23 and she collected a .983 save percentage.
- Ives got the start in net for the Bobcats exhibition game against Concordia and made 21 saves.
