HAMDEN, Connecticut – The Quinnipiac field hockey game fell to California, 3-2, in a hard-fought non-conference match-up at the Quinnipiac Field Hockey Stadium in Hamden, Conn. The Bobcats were led by Dayna Barlow (Port Elizabeth, South Africa) and Anna Walmsley (Glasgow, Scotland), who both scored in the Bobcats' loss.

NOTES

Barlow's team-high third goal of the season came early in the game when she took a feed from Michelle Federico and re-directed the pass past Cal's Danielle Mentink to give the Bobcats' a 1-0 lead.
Six of Michelle Federico's seven points for the year have come in the last five games (two goals, two assists).
Cal's Katrina Carter, Janaye Sakkas and Megan Rodgers each found the back of the cage to account for the Golden Bears' three unanswered goals through the first twenty minutes of the second half.
Anna Walmsley scored her second goal of the season off a rebound from a blast inside the circle by Ines Ruiz Martinez. Off a broken corner play, Ruiz Martinez picked up a ball that was knocked loose and blasted a shot on goal, which was steered away by Mentink's blocker but sent the ball over her right shoulder where Walmsley was waiting to bat it in.
The goal was Walmsley's second in her last four games.
Barlow's goal was her third of the year and first since Sept. 8 against Yale when she scored twice.
Ruiz Martinez has now assisted on two of Quinnipiac's last three goals.
