The Bobcat standout Lee adds another notch to her belt as her junior 2016-17 season has been one of the greatest individual campaigns in program history. Already the program's record holder for both sprint hurdle events (60m hurdles, 100m hurdles), Lee earned a spot in the NCAA East Regional with one of the Top 48 times among all student-athletes in the eastern region of the country. Not only is Lee just the third Quinnipiac track and field athlete to advance to an NCAA Regional, Lee becomes the first hurdler in program history to advance to an NCAA Regional event.
Lee's program record time of 13.56 seconds at Quinnipiac accomplished at the Penn Relays in Philadelphia on April 29 stands as her best time from the 2016 outdoor track and field season. Lee is seeded No. 44 out of 48 hurdles slotted in the 100m hurdles field as she will be going up against some of the best athletes in the country. The field includes five who own times under 13 seconds while the top-seeded competitor Charlton Devynee of Purdue ran a season high time of 12.67 seconds.

A distinguished student-athlete, Lee's 2016-17 season has been one of the most dynamic in recent memory as she starred in the indoor and outdoor season while building her case for the most prolific single-season in program history.
In the indoor season, Lee captured an unprecedented seven 60m hurdles titles including one in the 200m to come away with eight first place finishes on the season. At times during the regular season she established a new facility record in the 60m hurdles at the University of Rhode Island's Sorlein Invitational and also posted a program record 8.35 seconds in the same event at the Armory Track Invite. Lee was crowned the MAAC's Most Outstanding Track Performer after taking home titles in the 60m hurdles and 200m dash, becoming just the second Bobcat in program history to take home the highest individual honor in the conference. That strong performance was followed by wins at the New England Championships (defending her 2016 crown) and at the ECAC Championships as she became the school's first-ever ECAC Indoor Champion.
Lee's 2017 outdoor season included many stellar outings as she shined at the MAAC Championships, taking her first-ever 100m hurdles title with a MAAC record time of 13.76 seconds. A week prior Lee made history, stunning the field and besting three Top 50 hurdlers in the nation to place third at the Penn Relays with a program record time of 13.56 seconds. Most-recently Lee made history once again, placing first at the ECAC Championships in the 100m hurdles, becoming the first-ever Bobcat in program history to claim two career ECAC titles.
Evaluating the 100m hurdles field at the NCAA East Regional, Lee joins some standout hurdlers as 16 come in with times of 13.25 seconds or better. The top five ranked hurdlers in the event all hail from high-major programs while eight of the Top 10 seeded competitors attend powerhouse track and field programs including Purdue, Kentucky, Florida State, Miami, Georgia Tech and Ohio State. Lee is one of 20 competitors hailing from mid-major programs while she is the fifth-fastest hurdler from a school located in the Northeast, sitting behind Dartmouth's Cha'Mia Rothwell (No. 15 seed), Syracuse's Tia Thevenin (No. 23), Stony Brook's Courtney Warden (No. 36) and Buffalo's Selina Von Jackowski (No. 40).
Lee joins some elite company as the lone two other Quinnipiac track and field student-athlete to have advanced to the NCAA Regionals was former three-time All-American Katie Gwyther '06 and the best sprinter in program history Shameal Samuels '16. Gwyther, as a senior in the 2005-06 season competed in the 5000m at the NCAA Regional event in Greensboro, N.C. Gwyther went on to place 15th in the 5000m at the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships, 11th in the 3000m at the NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships and 12th in the NCAA Cross Country Championships. Samuels is the only Bobcat to advance to two NCAA Outdoor Regional events in their respective career.
