QU Men's Tennis Welcomes Siena For Senior Day on Sunday

SENIOR DAY
The Quinnipiac men's tennis team is back in action on Sunday, April 9, as the Bobcats welcome Siena to Hamden for senior day, with the festivities beginning at 10:30 a.m. and the match being played at 2 p.m.

Kei Ezaka (Ojai, California) has helped Quinnipiac to a 43-36 duel record in his four years. He has accumulated a number of accolades in his time at Quinnipiac, including being named MAAC Men's Tennis Rookie of the year after the 2013-14 season, All-MAAC Second team for No. 1 singles in after the 2014-15 season, All-MAAC first team for No. 1 singles after the 2015-16 season. He was named the 2015-16 MAAC Men's Player of the Year and Quinnipiac Men's Tennis Team MVP.
LAST TIME VS. SIENA
The last time the Bobcats took on the Saints, they won 4-0 to clinch the No. 2 seed in the MAAC Tournament. Quinnipiac's win was its 14th of the season as the Bobcats improve to 14-7 (6-1 MAAC) while Siena lost its 18th match in row to fall to 0-15 (0-6 MAAC) at the time. Kei Ezaka (Ojai, California) earned two victories on the day.
SCOUTING THE SAINTS
Siena owns a 4-9 record so far this season and has lost its last three contests. However Siena has defeated Rider, Holy Cross, Saint Peter's and Lafayette this season.
LAST TIME OUT
The last time Quinnipiac took the court, the Bobcats fell to MAAC rival Marist, 4-3, ending the Bobcats' three-game winning streak against conference foes to start the season.

Ezaka set the program-record for career wins after his doubles victory with partner Kyle Alper (Dix Hills, New York) against Marist. Ezaka currently has 138 career wins, which is one more than previous record-holder John Hughes 10'. Ezaka has 68 singles wins, which is second all-time and 70 doubles wins, which is third all-time in program history.
MAAC MANIA
In the Bobcats' four MAAC dual matches, they have gone 31-5 in competition. The team has posted a 20-4 record in singles play against MAAC opponents and 11-1 in doubles competition.
ALL GOOD FROM SPOT ONE
The Bobcats have had major success from the No. 1 spot in doubles matches, going 11-4 in those matches.
JOIN THE 10 CLUB
Four Bobcats have already reached at least 10 singles wins on the season as Julian Rozenstein (Marlboro, New Jersey) leads the team with 14 wins and Ezaka narrowly trails with 13 victories on the season. Axel Stern (Tustin, California) and Zaretsky each have 11 wins.
However, Quinnipiac has three players that are four or less singles wins away from 10 on the season. Austin Yannone (Severna Park, Maryland) has nine wins, Patrick Cachapero (Loma Linda, California) has eight wins and Jackson Koke (Calgary, Alberta) has six.
THREE IS THE MAGIC NUMBER
No matter if it is a singles or doubles match, in matches where he is in the No. 3 draw, Stern is undefeated (3-0).
CHEMISTRY IS EVERYTHING
Of the 16 different doubles' duos that have played together, 11 of them have a winning record.
HEATING UP
The doubles team of Rozenstein and Zaretsky own a 6-2 record together and have won five of their last six matches.
FEARSOME FRESHMEN
The duo of Stern and Yannone leads the team with 12 wins as a duo.

Following the match against Siena, the Quinnipiac men's tennis team will be back in action on Friday, April 14, as it welcomes Bryant to Hamden for a match beginning at 2:30 p.m.
