RICHMOND, Virginia - Senior forward Sarah Shewan (Russell, Ontario) followed her 24-point performance against Dayton with a 22-point effort as the Quinnipiac women's basketball team defeated the University of Richmond, 81-65 on Friday evening at the Robins Center.

The win was Quinnipiac's third in a row as the Bobcats open a short two-game road-trip with a win before closing at Hampton University on Sunday. Quinnipiac used a balanced attack as Aryn McClure (Springfield Gardens, New York), Carly Fabbri (Stratford, Connecticut), Paige Warfel (Chester Springs, Pennsylvania) and Shewan combined for 59 points in the win.

The win was Quinnipiac's third-straight and second in a row over an A-10 team.
The victory was the Bobcats' first road win of the season, Quinnipiac finished last season with 11 road victories.
Senior forward Sarah Shewan followed up her 24-point outing against Dayton with a team-high 22 points tonight.
Carly Fabbri (Stratford, Connecticut) chipped in a season-high 15 points and knocked down three three-pointers.
In her return to the lineup, Aryn McClure (Springfield Gardens, New York) added 12 points and four rebounds.
Paige Warfel (Chester Springs, Pennsylvania) finished with a career-high nine rebounds and tallied 10 points, one point shy of tying her career-high.
Quinnipiac opened the contest with a 10-2 run in the first three minutes, with Paula Strautmane (Riga, Latvia) scoring the first four.
The Bobcats held the lead for a total time of 38:31 of 40 minutes.
Quinnipiac took the lead for good after a Vanessa Udoji (Randolph, Massachusetts) three-pointer put the Bobcats up 13-11 with 4:52 remaining in the first quarter.
Shewan closed the first half with a three-pointer at the buzzer to give the Bobcats a 39-34 lead into the half.
Shewan had the hot hand to start the second half as she scored or assisted on Quinnipiac's first nine points in the third quarter.
After Richmond cut the Quinnipiac lead to nine points, the Bobcats closed the final 3:33 on an 11-4 run to put away the Spiders.
The Bobcats grabbed 17 offensive rebounds and finished with 25 second-chance points
Quinnipiac used a balanced attack as the Bobcats got 42 points from the bench.
