Top Scorer in the MAAC is Set to Graduate in December with a Bachelor's Degree in Business Management
HAMDEN, Connecticut - Quinnipiac women's soccer junior forward Nadya Gill (Toronto, Ontario) was featured on the 6:00 pm and 11:00 pm news broadcasts yesterday on NBC Connecticut, in a piece produced by J.W. Stewart. Gill will graduate this coming December with a bachelor's degree in business management and has plans on pursuing a career as a lawyer or professional soccer player.
Gill saw her Quinnipiac career come to an end on Tuesday this week in the MAAC Semifinals but not before she left a huge mark on the program. In her three years as a Bobcat, Gill racked up three All-MAAC honors (First Team 2016, 2015; Second Team 2014) while also taking the 2014 MAAC Rookie of the Year award. She totaled 74 points (30 goals, 14 assists) across a 56-game career as she finishes sixth all-time at Quinnipiac in career goals (30), tied for 10th in career assists (14) and tied for eighth in points (74). Gill became just the third player in program history to earn three All-Conference honors while her 34-point junior season (13 goals, eight assists in 18 games) ranked Top 20 in the nation while also standing as the 19th-most points accumulated by a single player in MAAC history.
Quinnipiac completed another solid campaign as the Bobcats finished 9-7-3 overall and 5-2-3 in the MAAC to earn the three-seed for the conference postseason tournament. In defeating Rider, 3-1, in the MAAC Quarterfinals, Quinnipiac advanced to the semifinal round of the conference tournament in consecutive seasons. Prior to last season, Quinnipiac had failed to win a postseason game since the 2000 season.
