PROVIDENCE, Rhode Island – The Quinnipiac field hockey team lost on the road to the Providence Friars, 2-1, in a highly-contested battle under the lights Friday night. The Bobcats' lone goal came from Lauren Belskie (Hillsborough, New Jersey) on a penalty corner to cut the Friars lead to one with 22 minutes to play in the second half. Elisa Ruiz-Martinez (Madrid, Spain) picked up the assist on Belskie's goal.

NOTES

Belskie's goal was strike from the inside the circle off of a penalty corner with 22 minutes remaining.
The goal was Belskie's fifth goal of the season, giving her the sole lead in goals for the Bobcats.
The goal also pushes Belskie into the team lead with 12 points so far this season.
Belskie now stands with six points during BIG EAST play this year, good for fifth in the BIG EAST.
Belskie's third goal in four BIG EAST games is good for fourth in Goals Per Game during BIG EAST play.
Ruiz-Martinez's assist was her second of the season. The assist now pushes Ruiz-Martinez's point total to six on the year.
Livy Golini (York, Maine) added three more saves to remain in first place in saves in the BIG EAST.
