Barlow's Hat Trick Propels QU Field Hockey to 3-2 Victory in OT

EASTON, Pennsylvania – The Quinnipiac field hockey team defeated Lafayette College Monday night in overtime, 3-2, backed by a hat trick by co-captain Dayna Barlow (Port Elizabeth, South Africa) who struck for all three of the Bobcats' goals.

- Barlow's hat trick is the first for a Quinnipiac player since Danielle Allan scored three times in a 5-1 win against Holy Cross on Sept. 26, 2013.
- It was also the first hat trick for a Quinnipiac player on the road since Jess Rusin did it at Colgate in a 6-0 win on Sept. 9, 2011
- Barlow's three-goal performance was the second time the co-captain struck for multiple goals in one game this season and the third time of her career.
- Her first multi-goal game of the season came when she scored twice in a 4-2 victory against Yale on September 8 in which was Quinnipiac's first win at the brand-new Quinnipiac Field Hockey Stadium.
- She also scored twice against Fairfield in a 5-4 overtime win on Nov. 1, 2015.
- The three goals from Barlow gives the co-captain seven goals on the season and pushes her points total to 18.
- Barlow's 18 points now gives the senior the team-lead in points.
- Barlow also now sits first in goals on the team as she has found the back of the cage seven times this season.
- Felicia Costanzo (Yorktown Heights, New York) picked up her second assist of the season on Barlow's goal that tied the game at 1 seven minutes into the second half.
- Elisa Ruiz Martinez (Madrid, Spain) picked up her third assist of the season on Barlow's second goal, which gave the Bobcats the 2-1 lead with a little less than 23 minutes to play.
- Kiera Godusky (Allentown, Pennsylvania) scored her first-career point on the assist to Barlow with just a 1:15 remaining in overtime.
- Quinnipiac's last non-conference overtime win came on October 19, 2014 at Bryant when the Bobcats won, 3-2, in shootout.
