No. 10 QU Women's Ice Hockey Falls to No. 9 Princeton, 3-0, in ECAC Matchup

HAMDEN, Conn. - No. 10/10 Quinnipiac women's ice hockey fell to No. 9/9 Princeton, 3-0, on Tuesday afternoon at High Point Solutions Arena in an ECAC Hockey matchup.
The Bobcats fall to 16-7-5 (9-5-2 ECAC) with the loss, while Princeton improves to 14-6-3 (10-4-2 ECAC). Quinnipiac is now 2-4-1 vs. ranked opponents this season.
Bobcats' goalie Sydney Rossman (Excelsior, Minnesota) registered 15 saves in net. She now has a .916 save percentage in 2016-17, and a 1.60 goals-against average.
Taryn Baumgardt (Innisfail, Alberta) saved a goal for Quinnipiac late in the first period, clearing a loose puck off the goal line to keep the game scoreless 1:20 before the first intermission.
The Tigers scored the game's first goal 3:25 into the second period, as Kelsey Koelzer found the back of the net on a breakaway to make it 1-0 Princeton. Emily Acheterkirch played the puck ahead to Koelzer, who backhanded it into the top right corner of the net.
Princeton then grabbed a two-goal advantage 9:07 into the second frame, as Karlie Lund scored her 19th goal of the season on a delayed penalty. With an extra attacker, Carly Bullock played the puck to Lund at the doorstep, who finished for her 75th point of her career.
Molly Contini then made it 3-0 Tigers 8:15 into the third, scoring her eighth goal of the season. Sylvie Wallin played the puck out of the defensive zone to Bullock, who fired a shot toward net. Rossman made a pad save, but Contini poked the deflection home to make it a three goal game.
Quinnipiac and Princeton played to both an even total of shots (18) and faceoff wins (21).
Quinnipiac returns to action this weekend, hosting Brown (Feb. 3 - 6 p.m.) and Yale (Feb. 4 - 3 p.m.) at High Point Solutions Arena in Hamden. Saturday's game vs. Yale will be televised on live on SNY.
