
QU Women’s Golf Finishes Tied for 7th Overall at Towson Tignanelli Invitational

PHOENIX, Maryland – Quinnipiac women's golf registered its sixth best 36-hole score in program history at the Towson Tignanelli Invitational, shooting a 317 (+60) to finish tied for 7th overall as a team.
Freshman Alexandra Sazhin (New Fairfield, Connecticut) finished the tournament tied for 20th with a 155 (+11) after following her first-round 77 with a 78 on Monday. Sazhin's second day was highlighted by three birdies on holes No. 2, 7 and 12. The first-year Bobcat shot a +3, 39 on the front nine before matching her effort over the back nine to wrap-up the second day at +6.
Luciana Tobia-Palza (La Paz, Bolivia) started at +4 through her first six holes before settling in and shooting par on eight her next nine holes. Tobia shot +4 on the front and back nine to finish with an 80 (+8) for the day and a 157 (+13) for the tournament. She finished tied for 26th overall.
Julia Kemmling (Berlin, Connecticut) shot an 80 (+8) on the second day of the tournament to follow her 81 (+9) on Sunday to finish with a 161 (+17) for the tournament. She placed 38th overall.
Abby Chase (Beaver Dam, Wisconsin) opened the day at +5 through the first nine holes before shooting par on the first five holes at the turn. Chase finished the tournament with a 163 (+19), which was good for 41st overall.
Quinnipiac will travel to Hanover, New Hampshire to compete in the Dartmouth Invitational at the Hanover Country Club on Sept. 24-25.
