
Quinnipiac Women's Golf Finishes 12th at Navy Fall Invitational

ANNAPOLIS, Maryland – The Quinnipiac University women's golf team finished in 12th place out of 16 teams at the 2016 Navy Fall Classic at the U.S. Naval Academy Golf Course in Annapolis, Maryland.
Quinnipiac freshman Alexandra Sazhin (New Fairfield, Conn.) led the team for the second-straight day, posting a 79 (+7) to go-along with her first-day 75 (+3) as she finished the tournament with a 154 (+10) for a tie of eighth place. Sazhin's two-day tally in her first collegiate tournament is tied for the 11th best 36-hole score in Quinnipiac history.
Luciana Tobia-Palza (La Paz, Bolivia) and Nicole Scola (Westerly, Rhode Island) finished tied for 54th at 166. Scola shot an 80 on Saturday before following with an 86 on the second day of the tournament while Tobia-Palza followed an 81 on Saturday with an 85 on Sunday.
Julia Kemmling (Berlin, Connecticut) improved by two strokes from her first-day tally, carding an 83 on Sunday, which followed her 85 on the first day of the tournament. She wrapped up her first tournament of the year with a 168. Caitlan Blydenburgh (Castleton, New York) shot a 171 (84-87) for the two-day tournament.
Quinnipiac returns to action on Sept. 18-19 when it travels to Phoenix, Maryland to compete in the Towson Tignanelli Invitational at Eagles Nest Country Club.
