Tibball Gives Bobcats a Rare Left-Footed Player to Use on Defense and Set Pieces
HAMDEN, Connecticut – Beginning the week of Feb. 22, the Quinnipiac women's soccer team will introduce its seven-member freshmen class for the 2016 season. Head Coach Dave Clarke would like to continue the introductions for the Class of 2020 with defender Mackenzie Tibball (West Hartford, Connecticut).
The addition of Tibball gives the Bobcats even more depth along the back line and midfield positions as Quinnipiac returns all four of the Bobcats' consistent starting defenders including senior Joanna Proctor (Frimley, England) and a talented sophomore class that includes Sarahkate Norton (East Bridgewater, Mass.), Jess Cascio (Hebron, Conn.), Caroline DeBonis (Flushing, N.Y.) and Katrina Friedman (Syosset, N.Y.).
Coach Clarke remarks, "Mackenzie is a good defender who can play in a number of roles and will provide options on the left-hand side. She has a good work ethic and a great attitude for the game. She will provide more depth and coverage to the back four and midfield."
Assistant Coach Stephen Coxon, who was heavily involved in the recruiting process, noted, "Mackenzie brings a much needed left foot to the squad. Another incoming freshman that is versatile, can play at the back or in the midfield. Mackenzie will be important to our set plays."
