
No. 14 QU Men's Ice Hockey Drops Three Rivers Classic Final To Robert Morris, 5-2

PITTSBURGH, Pennsylvania – Quinnipiac men's ice hockey lost to Robert Morris, 5-2, in the Championship Game of the Sixth Annual Three Rivers Classic at PPG Paints Arena in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. With the loss, Quinnipiac drops to 11-8-2 overall while Robert Morris improves to 11-6-3.
Chase Priskie (Pembroke Pines, Florida) was named to the Three Rivers Classic All-Tournament Team after scoring the Bobcats' first goal of the game. Thomas Aldworth (Heller, Texas) totaled a goal and an assist in the game while Kevin Duane (New Canaan, Connecticut), Tommy Schutt (Chanhassen, Minnesota) and Luke Shiplo (Oakville, Ontario) all had assists.
Priskie scored his second goal of the season and his first since Oct. 8, snapping a 14-game stretch since he last scored a goal. Kevin Duane (New Canaan, Connecticut) started the play after he took control of the puck deep in the Bobcats' defensive zone and handed it to Thomas Aldworth (Keller, Texas). Aldworth skated the length of the ice and between the face-off circles in front of Robert Morris goalie Francis Marotte before his behind-the-back pass found Priskie's stick for the one-timer.
RMU's Alex Tonge tied the game just over six minutes into the second period on the power play. Brady Feruson moved the puck across ice to Daniel Leavens who zipped a pass to Tonge just above the goalline. Tonge wristed a shot past Bobcat goalie Chris Truehl (Madison, Wisconsin) for his 11th of the season.
Rob Mann put the Colonials out in front with his second goal of the year with less than a minute to play in the second period. Mann wristed a shot from the point that twisted through traffic to beat Truehl and give Robert Morris a 2-1 lead.
Five minutes into the third period, RMU increased its lead to two goals when Spencer Dorowicz picked up a loose puck in the corner to Truehl's right. Dorowicz skated between the face-off circles and threw a back-hand shot on goal that found its way past Quinnipiac's goalie to give Robert Morris a 3-1 lead. Timmy Moore made it 4-1 with his eighth goal of the season three minutes later.Moore added an empty-net goal in the closing minutes.
Aldworth's second goal of the year came on the power play with assists awarded to Schutt and Shiplo.
Quinnipiac returns to action when it travels to Cambridge, Massachusetts to face Harvard on Friday, Jan. 6 and Hanover, New Hampshire on Saturday, Jan. 7 to face Dartmouth.
