
QU Men's Ice Hockey Climbs To No. 3 In USCHO.com Poll, No. 2 In USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine Poll

The Quinnipiac men's ice hockey team continued its ascension in the national polls, climbing to the No. 3 spot in the USCHO.com Division I poll and the No. 2 spot in the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine poll, while earning 12 first-place votes in each ranking. The Bobcats stand at 10-0-0 overall and 4-0-0 in ECAC Hockey and sit atop the PairWise Ranking.
The Bobcats are coming off a weekend that saw them defeat No. 6/7 Harvard, 4-1, on Friday, Nov. 13 before jumping on Dartmouth to the tune of a 6-2 win. The Bobcats' 10-0-0 start matches the program's all-time best start while it stands as the best start to the season since Quinnipiac moved to the NCAA Division I ranks in 1998-99. It's also the longest overall win streak in program history.

• Through 10 games, Quinnipiac has out-scored its opponents 45-17, with four goals in nine of its 10 games to date.

Tim Clifton (Matawan, New Jersey) led the way for Quinnipiac with a team-high three goals and four points. Clifton scored twice - once on the power play and once short-handed - against Harvard on Friday night to lead the Bobcats to a win against the Top-10 Crimson before scoring one goal and assisting on another against Dartmouth on Saturday. Clifton has now scored in six consecutive games, good for the second-longest goal-scoring streak in Quinnipiac's Division I history behind Chris Cerrella's 11-game scoring streak in 1999. For the year, Clifton has totaled seven goals and two assists for nine points.
Against Harvard, Sam Anas (Potomac, Maryland) became the 17th Quinnipiac player all-time and the 11th at the Division I level to reach 50 career goals before adding another goal against Harvard. Anas currently sits at 51 for his career, while his six goals and six assists for 12 points lead the Bobcats this season. Travis St. Denis (Trail, British Columbia) has matched Anas' point output with seven goals and five assists to date.
Bobcats freshman Chase Priskie (Pembroke Pines, Florida) has five assists in his last three games to give him a team-high 10 helpers for the year in his first 10 collegiate games. The Bobcats have also been aided by the strong play of K.J. Tiefenwerth (Bellmore, New York) and Tommy Schutt (Chanhassan, Minnesota) as of late. Tiefenwerth had a goal and two assists for the weekend to give him three goals and four assists for the year while Schutt has doubled his goal output from his sophomore season to the tune of four goals this year.
Quinnipiac will face UConn on Tuesday, Nov. 17 at the XL Center in Hartford, Connecticut at 7 p.m. before hosting Clarkson on Friday, Nov. 20 and St. Lawrence on Saturday, Nov. 21.
