The Quinnipiac University field hockey team opens Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) play on Friday, Oct.9 against Bryant University at 3 p.m. at the Quinnipiac Field Hockey Turf Complex in Hamden, Conn. On Sunday, Oc.t 11, Quinnipiac will host Providence for its annual Play4TheCure game to benefit breast cancer research. The Bobcats and Friars square off at 1 p.m. in Hamden.

All-Time Against Bryant
The Last Time They Met
Last season's thriller went to a shoot-out after Quinnipiac tied the game late in regulation, on Lauren Belskie's first career goal. The Bobcats grabbed an early lead off a marker by Haley Swartz before Bryant's Rosie Bird scored twice to give the host Bulldogs a 2-1 lead. After Belskie's goal with less than two minutes to play, Megan Osanitsch played the hero with a shoot-out clinching goal.

Play4TheCure
- Quinnipiac Field Hockey will host its Play4TheCure game to benefit breast cancer research for the eighth consecutive year.

- Quinnipiac Field Hockey will host a "chance auction" as one of its fundraisers. The Bobcats will also sell hats and t-shirts, with 100% of the profit from the sales going towards Play4TheCure.
All-Time Against Bryant
- Quinnipiac and Bryant have faced each other seven times since the Bulldogs elevated to the NCAA Division I ranks in 2009, with the Bobcats holding a 5-2 edge in the all-time series.
- Bryant won the first two games between the two teams - a 2-0 win in 2009 and a 4-2 win in 2010, both in Smithfield, Rhode Island.
- Quinnipiac won the first of five straight with a 2-0 win at home in 2011.
- The Bobcats win in 2011 was the first of four consecutive shutouts against the Bulldogs as Quinnipiac outscored Bryant 11-0 over a four-year span.

- Bryant enters the weekend with a record of 2-9 on the season, with its last win coming on Sept. 25 in a 2-1 decision against Vermont.
- Bryant is coming off an 8-0 loss to Maine and a 2-1 loss to Holy Cross last week.
- Victoria Danby leads the Bulldogs in goals (9) and points (20), but hasn't scored in the last three games after a two-goal outing against Dartmouth on Sept. 20.
- Erin Karcher is Bryant's assist leader, dishing out four to date, and is one of three Bulldogs - including Emily Perryman and Bronwyn Walton - with three or more assists to date.
- In goal, Marissa Elizardo is 2-5 with a .663 save percentage and a 3.13 goals-against average.
- Last year's meeting marked the first competition between Quinnipiac and Providence.
- Providence defeated Quinnipiac, 5-1, in Providence, Rhode Island.
- Meghan McCullough scored on a penalty stroke to give Quinnipiac a 1-0 lead before the Friars rattled off five unanswered goals, including a pair from Megan Hamilton.
- Providence enters the weekend with a record of 2-10 following a split last weekend. The Friars picked up their second win of the year with a 4-1 win against Georgetown in BIG EAST play before falling to Dartmouth, 5-2.
- Adrienne Houle leads Providence in goals (4) and points (9).
- Emma Mackie has dished out a team-leading five assists to date.
- Deidre Clymer has seen a majority of the minutes in the cage for Providence and holds a 1-6 record with a .565 save percentage and a 2.68 GAA.
- Quinnipiac is coming off a 4-1 loss to Penn State on Oct. 2.
- The last time Quinnipiac was on its home turf, the Bobcats knocked-off Vermont, 4-3, on Sept. 27.

- Nine different Quinnipiac players have scored entering the weekend, led by Savanna Reilly and Lauren Belskie with three apiece.
- Six of the Bobcats goal scorers have registered multiple goals this year, with Michelle Federico, Meghan McCullough, Angie King and Haley Swartz all scoring twice.
- Michelle Federico has dished-out a team-leading five assists this season to go along with two goals for a team-leading nine for the year.

- Lily Shemo has accumulated a career-best three assists this season. The sophomore has an assist in three of Quinnipiac's last four games.
- Lauren Belskie's three goals came in a two-game span with one coming against Hofstra before a two-goal outing against Vermont.
- Dayna Barlow scored her first points of the year with Quinnipiac's lone goal against Penn State.
- Angie King enters the weekend with a NCAA Division I leading 12 defensive saves for the season.
- Quinnipiac's 19 defensive saves leads all NCAA Division I teams.
- King has recorded a defensive save in nine of Quinnipiac's 11 games this year, including at least one defensive save in seven straight games.
- King is currently tied with Sydney Supica for the most career defensive saves (17) among all active NCAA Division I field hockey players.
