
QU Women's Golf To Compete In St. John's Invitational

Quinnipiac women's golf will compete in the third-annual St. John's Invitational on Oct. 26-27 at The Saint Andrew's Golf Club in Hastings-on-Hudson, New York.

- Quinnipiac will compete against Hartford, Hofstra, Sacred Heart, St. Francis (N.Y.) and the host, St. John's.
- The Saint Andrew's Golf Club is a 5,802 yard, Par 72 course that opened in 1888 and is the oldest golf club in America.
- The course features a slope of 137 and a rating of 75.1.
- The St. John's Invitational will feature 10 a.m. Tee times on Monday and Tuesday with 18 holes slated for each day.
- Quinnipiac is coming off a win at the Delaware State University Invitational on Oct. 18-19.
- Quinnipiac finished ahead of Fairfield, Delaware State and Hamption in the four-team tournament.
- Lucian Tobia finished tied for first, but lost in a playoff for medalist honors.
- The Bobcats placed four players in the top eight; in additio to Tobia, Julia Kemmling finished third, Nicole Scola was tied for sixth and Jenn Whaley was tied for eighth.
- This season, Quinnipiac is 1-1 against Hartford, 1-1 against Hofstra, 2-1 against Sacred Heart and 1-0 against St. Francis (N.Y.).
- Freshman stand-out Lucian Tobia currently leads the team with a 78.27 per-18-hole average.
- Tobia also posted a team-, season-best 70 at the Dartmouth Invitational on Sept. 27, 2015.
- Last week, she carded her second Top 10 finish and first, first-place finish of the year at the Quinnipiac Classic.
- Tobia also leads the Bobcats in Fairways Hit at 79.6%, good for 76th out of 441 NCAA Division I women's golfers.
- Tobia's 152 (+8) at the Navy Invitational is the sixth-best 36-hole score in Quinnipiac history.
- Tobia completed the 54-hole Navy Invitational with a 231 (+15) for the second-best 54-hole score in program history.
- Freshman Julia Kemmling currently ranks third in the Bobcats line-up with a 80.33 average per 18 holes.
- Kemmling's 77 on the third round at the Navy Invitational is the third-best round this season for the Bobcats.
- Kemmling currently leads Quinnipiac in Par 5 Scoring at 5.10.
- Kemmling's 22 birdies this season are the most for a freshman in program history, breaking Jenn Whaley's record of 20 in 2012-13. Her 22 birdies also rank fifth all-time.
- Kemmling shot a 237 (+27) at the Quinnipiac Classic, good for the seventh-best 54-hole score in program history.
- Kemmling's 5.0975 average ranks first all-time in Par 5 Scoring at Quinnipiac.
