Quinnipiac baseball head coach Dan "Skip" Gooley was featured in
the Hartford Courant in an article written by Mike Anthony on
Saturday, April 6. Gooley will go for his 500th win when Quinnipiac
plays at Monmouth on Saturday, April 7 at 1 p.m.
With an 11-4 win against Northeast Conference opponent Fairleigh Dickinson on Friday, March 23, Quinnipiac baseball head coach Dan "Skip" Gooley won his 499th career game, and 398th at Quinnipiac. Gooley also won 101 games as the head coach at University of Hartford. Gooley will have a chance to reach the 500-win and 400-win marks when the Bobcats travel to Central Connecticut State on Sunday, April 1.
Former director of athletics and men's basketball head coach Burt Kahn (459) and current men's and women's tennis head coach Mike Quitko (477) are the only other coaches in Quinnipiac history to reach 400 victories, while Gooley's 499 wins are the most career wins for any Quinnipiac coach. Gooley is currently in his 27th year coaching and 22nd at Quinnipiac. Gooley also won 101 games as University of Hartford's head baseball coach from 1988-1992.
