"Being recognized as one of the top seniors in the nation is quite an accomplishment, and I can't imagine a better way for Kaitlyn to close out her collegiate career," head coach Danie Caro said. "I hope that she will enjoy playing with and against some of the best players in Division I, and I know she will represent the NEC well. We're very proud of all that she has achieved at Quinnipiac - she has set a new standard for the players that will follow her."
Kelly was honored at season's end with her second consecutive All-NEC First Team selection, after leading the team in caused turnovers (23), and finishing second on the squad with 39 ground balls. The senior also finished the regular season ranking second in the NEC with 1.77 caused turnovers per game.
"It is an honor to be selected to play in the North-South senior game to play alongside many of the country's best seniors," said Kelly. "It is a great way to end my lacrosse career."
Kelly was named NEC Defensive Player of the Week once during the 2011 season, on Monday, Apr. 4, marking the third time in her career that she has received such recognition.
