
Women's Basketball Beats Fairleigh Dickinson, 75-56, On Senior Day

McQuain (Independence, Mo.) recorded her sixth career
double-double as the Quinnipiac University women's basketball team
defeated Fairleigh Dickinson, 75-56, at the TD Bank Sports Center
on senior day. The Bobcats improve to 14-14 overall and 11-6 in the
Northeast Conference, while the Knights fall to 14-14 and 7-10 in
conference play.
McQuain posted a double-double of 13 points and 13 rebounds in the
win, while Quinnipiac's Kari
Goodchild (Van Horne, Iowa) was 3-for-3 from three-point range
on her way to a game-high 17 points. The junior guard also pulled
down seven rebounds, while classmate Jacinda
Dunbar (Edison, N.J.) posted 15 points and nine rebounds.
Fairleigh Dickinson was led by Mariyah Laury and Danielle Pankey,
who put up 15 points and 12 points, respectively.
The Bobcats dominated play against Fairleigh Dickinson, holding the
Knights to 27.8% shooting from the floor and 15.4% from three-point
range. The Bobcats also outrebounded FDU, 54-29, on their way to
their second highest rebound total of the season.
FDU's Maury scored the first basket of the game, but from there it
was all Quinnipiac. Lisa
Lebak (Robbinsville, N.J.) knocked down back-to-back
three-pointers at the 14:03 mark as the Bobcats doubled the Knights
up, 14-7. Goodchild dropped in another three on the Bobcats' next
possession to push Quinnipiac's lead to 17-9. The Bobcats' biggest
lead of the first half, 22-13, came on a jumper by McQuain while
Quinnipiac took a 33-30 lead heading into halftime. McQuain
dominated the first half, as she came close to collecting a
double-double in only the first twenty minutes of play, posting
eight points and 10 rebounds. The lead changed five times and the
score was tied three times during the first half.
Goodchild's three-pointer at the 16:49 mark gave the Bobcats a
double-digit lead (11 points) for the first time in the contest,
44-33. Courtney
Kaminski (Dudley, Mass.) drained a jumper halfway through the
second stanza to put Quinnipiac ahead by double-figures for the
remainder of the contest. Kaminski's two points gave the team a
55-44 lead.
The Bobcats took their biggest lead of the game, 19 points, 71-52,
down the stretch, as McQuain added a point from the free throw

Pratt (Palmyra, N.J.) handed the ball off to fellow senior Mia
Picillo (Derry N.H.), who then scored her first basket of the
season at the buzzer. Quinnipiac went on to win the game by 19
points, its largest margin of victory of the season, 75-56.
The Bobcats' honored four seniors prior to the start of the game,
including Kaminski, Pratt, Picillo, and Alyssa Jann (Westford,
Mass.).
Quinnipiac hosts its final game of the season against Monmouth,
Monday, Feb. 28 at 7 p.m. at the TD Bank Sports Center.
