
Men's Cross Country Finish Sixth At CCSU Invitational

NEW BRITAIN, Conn. - The Quinnipiac University men's cross country team finished sixth out of nine teams at the CCSU Blue Devil Invitational held on Saturday, September 11, 2010 at Stanley Quarter Park. Providence College won the invitational on both the men and women's side. The Bobcats finished with a total of 184 points and placed ahead of Northeast Conference opponent Bryant.
"There were some good performances today, but we still have some
work to do for the championship part of the season," said Head
Coach Carolyn Martin. "We're looking forward to the home
invitational next week."
Sophomore Mike Levene (Redding, Conn.) led the Bobcats
finishing in 20th place out of 102 runners overall at
27:18. The second Quinnipiac runner to cross the finish line was
junior John Beckshaw (Medford, Mass.) at 27:52. Brian Cotter
(Huntington, N.Y) finished the 5.2 mile course with a time of
27:59. The fourth and fifth runners to finish for Quinnipiac were
Jacob Cetera (Chicago, Ill.) at 28:25 and Ryan Wolff (Mount Holly,
N.J) at 28:40, who are both new to collegiate running.
Quinnipiac hosts the Quinnipiac Invitational at the Quinnipiac
Cross Country Course in Hamden, Conn. on Saturday, Sept. 18. The
meet is set to begin at noon.
