BOSTON, Mass - The
Quinnipiac University men's cross country team continued the 2010
season on Saturday, Oct. 9 at the 98th New England
Collegiate Cross Country Championships held at Franklin Park in
Boston, Mass. The Bobcats competed in both the Varsity and Sub
Varsity races, finishing in 35th place in the Varsity
meet. The men's varsity event was host to 47 colleges from the New
England Region and was won by Dartmouth College.
Finishing in first
for the Bobcats was sophomore Mike
Levene (Redding, Conn.), who placed 59th overall in
25:47. Levene was recently named Quinnipiac Male Athlete of the
Month after solid performances in the month of September. Crossing
the line next for Quinnipiac was Brian
Cotter (Huntington, N.Y.) with a time of 27:01. Finishing third
for the Bobcats was Jake Cetera (Chicago, Ill.) in 27:26. Close
behind Cetera was John
Beckshaw (Medford, Mass.) with a time of 27:31. The next runner
to finish for the Bobcats was Dylan Denuzzo (Melville, N.Y.) in
27:39.
"I felt that the men all raced strong races," said Quinnipiac Head
Coach Carolyn
Martin. "The men raced smarter, packed up together and ran as a
team. We still need a little more tuning up, so we'll be ready for
our conference meets coming up."
Quinnipiac travels to New Britain, Conn. for the Central
Connecticut State University Mini-Meet held at Stanley Quarter Park
on Friday, Oct. 22. The men are scheduled to race at 4:00 p.m.
