
James Johnson Named NEC Rookie of the Week

HAMDEN, Conn. Quinnipiac University men's basketball freshman guard James Johnson (Queens, N.Y.) has been named the Northeast Conference Rookie of the Week, the league office today announced. Johnson tallied 10 points, seven assists, five rebounds and three steals in the Bobcats' 73-66 victory against Maine.
For the season, Johnson has averaged 10.4 points, 4.0 assists, 4.0 rebounds and 1.3 steals in 35.2 minutes per game. He immediately seized ownership of the point guard position, starting the first five games for the Bobcats. In doing so, Johnson has become just the sixth Quinnipiac player at the Division I level to start five consecutive games to begin his collegiate career.
