Former Quinnipiac field hockey stand-out Kim Cunniff will join the Bobcats' coaching staff as an assistant coach for the 2016 season. Cunniff previously served as a graduate assistant with the Bobcats for the 2012 season.
Cunniff was a two-time All-Northeast Conference First Team selection in 2010 and 2011. As a senior in 2011, she was also named the NEC Defensive Player of the Year. That season, she became the third player in program history to reach the 30-point mark as her 14 goal, four assist performance gave her 32 for the season.
Cunniff’s 14 goals were the second most in program history, at the time, and currently rank third in Quinnipiac history. In addition, her 25 career goals are tied for sixth all-time at Quinnipiac while her 58 career points rank eighth in Quinnipiac history.
During her senior season, Cunniff became the first Quinnipiac player to score five consecutive team goals. In a three-game span, Cunniff scored against nationally-ranked Penn State, turned in a three-goal outing against Lehigh and then posted a two-goal game against Siena.
Cunniff who graduated from Quinnipiac in 2011 with a degree in criminal justice.
