Michelle Federico enters her first season as a volunteer assistant coach for the field hockey team in August 2018 following an outstanding four-year career for the Bobcats.
Federico was a two-time captain for the Bobcats and a very decorated student-athlete as she was a four-time member of the NFHCA National Academic Squad. On the field, Federico was part of Quinnipiac’s 2015 MAAC Regular Season Championship team before joining the BIG EAST the following season.
In her career, Federico played in 71 games and made 60 starts. In those 71 games, she tallied 12 goals and 14 assists for 38 points. Federico had an impressive senior season with 16 points on five goals and six assists in Quinnipiac’s second season in the BIG EAST to finish second on the team in each category.
Away from the field, Federico was a member of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC). As part of SAAC, Federico helped promote a positive student-athlete image, coordinate school functions and volunteer opportunities as well as participate in a committee to offer input on rules, regulations and policies that influenced all Quinnipiac student-athletes.
Federico graduated from Quinnipiac in December 2017 and is currently studying nursing at UConn.
