Women's Golf Wraps Up Day One of Red Bandana Invitational

CANTON, MA – The Quinnipiac women's golf team started their second tournament of the fall season on Monday, competing at the Red Bandana Invitational, hosted by Boston College. The Bobcats finished the first two rounds with a team total of 626 (+50). As a team, the Bobcats carded a 305 (+17) in round one and a 321 (+33) in the final round on day one.

Sophia Fujita and Michelle Wong are tied with the best score among the Quinnipiac participants, with them both finishing with a two-round total of 156 (+12). Fujita shot a 75 (+3) in the first round and an 81 (+9) in the second, while Wong shot a 76 (+4) and an 80 (+8) on the first day.

Zoie Chan and Marisa Flores wrapped up day one with a total of 158 (+14). Chan and Flores had matching rounds, both shooting a 77 (+5) on the first 18 and an 81 (+9) on the final 18 on Monday.

Samantha Galantini finished day one with a total score of 160 (+16) to round out the Quinnipiac grouping. Galantini shot an 81 (+9) in the first round and improved her score by two strokes (79, +7) in the second round to close out the day.

Tekla Fine-Lease carded a 173 (+29) as she is competing as an individual. Fine-Lease shot an 88 (+16) in the opening round and closed out with an 85 (+13).

The Bobcats will close out play at the Red Bandana Invitational on Tuesday, September 22^nd.

SCORES AND NOTES

Quinnipiac is one of five Metro Conference teams competing in the Red Bandana Invitational and ranks third among those five after the first 36 holes.
As a team, the Bobcats are tied for fourth in birdies (15) and are fourth in pars (102).
Sophia Fujita's first round score of 75 (+3) was the best round of any Bobcat on day one.
Samantha Galantini is tied for seventh in the field with five birdies after 36 holes, which also leads the Bobcats.
Michelle Wong leads Quinnipiac with 25 pars after two rounds, which also puts her in a tie for third among all the participants.
