ORONO, Maine – The No. 6 Quinnipiac women's ice hockey team earned its first sweep of the season, defeating Maine 4-1 on Saturday afternoon.

Alex Law picked up right where she left off, scoring the opening goal of the game and finding the back of the net for the second straight game.

The Bobcats doubled their lead with 40 seconds remaining in the first period as Aynsley D'Ottavio scored her first goal of the season.

After a scoreless second period, Maine cut the deficit in half midway through the third.

Quinnipiac answered with two goals in the following minutes to secure the victory. Rosalie Breton scored her first collegiate goal, while Kahlen Lamarche added an empty-net goal for her first of the season.

Casey Clausen earned her second collegiate win and her first collegiate weekend sweep, recording 22 saves in net.

STATS AND NOTES

Quinnipiac has won 12 consecutive meetings against Maine.
Alex Law scored her second goal of the season and 13th of her career.
Law recorded a goal in back-to-back games for the first time in her collegiate career.
Aynsley D'Ottavio recorded her first goal of the season and seventh of her career, as well as the second game-winning goal of her career.
Rosalie Breton scored her first collegiate goal and recorded a point in both games this weekend, following an assist last night.
Kahlen Lamarche recorded her first goal of the season and 43rd of her career. Lamarche now has 132 points in 118 career games.
Keara Parker recorded her first multi-assist game of the season and second of her career. Her last multi-assist game came on Dec. 7, 2024, against Minnesota while at St. Thomas.
Bryn Prier added an assist, recording a point in back-to-back games.
Ilsa Lindaman, Taylor Brueske and Makayla Watson recorded their first points of the season with an assist each.
Casey Clausen stopped 22 of 23 shots in her second collegiate start, earning her second collegiate win.
The Bobcats are 8-for-8 on the penalty kill this season.

UP NEXT

The Bobcats will face another Hockey East opponent, Providence, in a home-and-home series. Quinnipiac will host the Friars for Bobcat Weekend on Friday, Oct. 2 at 3 p.m. before heading to Rhode Island on Saturday, Oct. 3 at 3 p.m.
