HAMDEN, CT – For the second straight game Morgan Cupo scored the game-winning goal in the final 10 minutes, helping the Bobcats defeat the Merrimack Warriors, 2-1, on Wednesday afternoon in Hamden.

The Bobcats and Warriors were locked in a scoreless battle in the midweek Metro Conference matchup as the two teams went into halftime tied at zero.

Just over 13 minutes into the second half, the Bobcats broke the ice as Anna Bean found the back of the net for her second goal of the season.

The Quinnipiac lead did not last for long as Merrimack headed home the game-tying goal just five minutes later.

Quinnipiac and Merrimack would remain tied for a large portion of the second half, but with just under eight minutes to go, the Bobcats would get back in front. Isabella Torelli forced a turnover in the box and found a wide-open Morgan Cupo, who slotted home the game-winning goal in the 83^rd minute.

With the win, the Bobcats extended their win streak to three games and improved to 5-2-1 on the season and 3-1-0 in conference play.

"We didn't start well; we didn't play well overall. I think we have always historically had an issue with Wednesday home games, just whether it's school, whether it's focus, whether it's crowd, or intensity, I have no idea. I haven't been able to solve that in 20-odd years. The most important thing I said pregame was three points. The bonus is playing well, so we didn't really play well; we had moments and combinations. But we had to grind out a win, which is important, so I'll take that over losing."

Anna Bean got the scoring started in the 58^th minute with her second goal of the season. Bean is now second on the team in goals (2) and total points (5).
Tatum O'Brien recorded her first collegiate point with an assist on Anna Bean's goal in the second half.
Morgan Cupo found the back of the net once again, scoring her ninth goal of the year and 23^rd of her collegiate career.
Cupo now leads the team and the conference in goals (9), points (20), and game-winning goals (3).
Cupo has netted at least one goal in five straight contests.
