No. 6 Bobcats Knock Off No. 7 UConn in Exhibition Action

STORRS, Conn. – Avery Bairos recorded a goal and an assist as the No. 6 Quinnipiac women's ice hockey team earned a 3-2 exhibition win over UConn on Saturday afternoon at Toscano Family Ice Forum.
The Bobcats struck twice in the first period behind goals from Bairos and transfer Keara Parker. Bairos got QU on the board 7:40 into the game before Parker netted her first goal as a Bobcat with just over a minute remaining in the period to give the Bobcats a 2-0 lead after 20 minutes.
UConn cut the deficit in half midway through the second period, but Kahlen Lamarche responded minutes later, finishing off a feed from Bairos to restore Quinnipiac's two-goal lead heading into the final period.
The Huskies added a goal early in the third, but the Bobcats held on the rest of the way to secure the exhibition victory.
Sophomore goaltender Casey Clausen played all 60 minutes in her Quinnipiac debut, saving 26 shots to earn the win.UP NEXT
