Lim, Hansen Tabbed Metro Weekly Award Honorees

HAMDEN, Conn. — A pair of Quinnipiac men's soccer players were recognized by the Metro Conference on Monday afternoon, as sophomore midfielder Taehyeon Lim and first year goalkeeper Alexander Hansen each received weekly accolades.
Lim was named the league's Offensive Player of the Week after a historic stretch of games that led to two, come-from-behind victories for the Bobcats. The Montreal, Quebec native's penalty kick in the 82nd minute gave the Bobcats a 3-2 victory over Providence in the team's home opener on Monday afternoon after adding an assist earlier in the day.
He then put on a show on Friday, scoring three consecutive goals in the second half after assisting on one in the first, erasing a 3-1 deficit to rivals Yale en route to a 4-3 victory to give Quinnipiac its second win of the week. With the seven points, he set the program's single-game record in that department.
He was also named to the UniGol Team of the Week and was selected as the organization's player of the week as well.
Hansen had a strong week between the posts, making 15 saves to aid the Bobcats' defensive efforts. He had 10 in the win against Providence on Monday, including a couple highlight-reel stops to keep the game within reach. The Denmark native made four, second-half stops to anchor the comeback effort on Friday, finishing the night with five.
It is both of the athletes' first career weekly honors.
