Fujita Leads Bobcats After Day 1 of Georgia State Invitational

Johns Creek, Ga. – The Quinnipiac women's golf team closed out the first day of the Georgia State Invitational sitting in second place out of 14 programs. Quinnipiac will head into the final round just three strokes behind the leader, Georgia State.
Sophia Fujita stands as the highest finisher among the Bobcats after the first 36 holes. Fujita shot a 71 (-1) in both rounds on Monday to give her a two-round total of 142 (-2). Fujita will enter the final round in a tie for fifth place and just four strokes behind the individual leader.
Samantha Galantini had a great day on the course, sitting in tenth place after day one. Galantini had a tremendous first round, shooting a 70 (-2). Galantini followed up with a 75 (+3) in the second round to finish with a two-round total of 145 (+1).
Vaidehi Shah currently sits in the top 25, finishing the day in a nine-way tie for 25th. Shah finished the day with a two-round total of 149 (+5). Marisa Flores finished a stroke behind Shah as she carded a 74 (+2) in round one and a 76 (+4) in the final round on Monday.
Natalie Spiska rounded out the Quinnipiac grouping as she posted a two-round total of 161 (+17). Tekla Fine-Lease is competing as an individual and boasted a two-round total of 164 (+20).
