Bobcats Finish Strong in First Spring Tournament

Melbourne, Fla. - The Quinnipiac women's golf team closed out play at the Space Coast Classic hosted by Columbia in Melbourne, Florida. In Quinnipiac's first tournament of their spring season, the Bobcats finished the tournament with their second-best round of the weekend, 310 (+22).

Marisa Flores ended the weekend as Quinnipiac's highest finisher, as she shot a 76 (+4) in the final round to give her a three-round total of +11 (227).

Samantha Galantini finished a stroke behind Flores and was Quinnipiac's second-highest finisher on the weekend.

Sophia Fujita had her second-best round of the tournament on the final day as she finished with a three-round total of +18 (234).

Natalie Spiska and Tekla Fine-Lease rounded out the Quinnipiac grouping, finishing two strokes apart from each other. Both Spiska and Fine-Lease shot a 79 (+7) on the final day of the Space Coast Classic.

The Bobcats will be back in action on Monday, March 9^th, as they open up play at the Low Country Intercollegiate in Hilton Head, South Carolina.

SCORES AND NOTES

Samantha Galantini, Marisa Flores, and Sophia Fujita tied for the best round of any Bobcat (75, +3) throughout the two-day tournament.
Flores and Fujita shot a 75 in the first round of competition, while Galantini carded a 75 in the second round.
Flores shot a 76 (+4) in the last two rounds of competition down in Florida.
Natalie Spiska's best round was the first round of the tournament as she shot a 78 (+6) on the first 18 holes.
Tekla Fine-Lease had her best round on the final day of competition, shooting a 79 (+7) on Sunday.
